Our Story
It Starts With A Strong (Design) Foundation
This Old Hudson began in 2015 when founder Anthony D’Argenzio left New York City in search of inspiration, historic homes, and a slower way of living. After purchasing and restoring a century-old fixer-upper, he began documenting the process online, sharing the transformation of the home alongside a growing appreciation for historic spaces, preservation, and life upstate.
What began as a personal creative outlet quickly evolved into This Old Hudson, an homage to historic homes, thoughtful design, and the enduring appeal of Upstate New York. Through the stories of restored spaces and life beyond the city, it attracted a passionate and growing community drawn to character, creativity, and the timeless beauty of the region.
From Design Passion to Real Estate Vision
As his work expanded beyond restoration, Anthony began creating hospitality experiences that celebrated the character and beauty of the Hudson Valley.
Through welcoming guests into these spaces, he discovered a passion for helping others find homes that reflected not only their needs, but the lifestyle and connection to place they were seeking—an approach that continues to shape This Old Hudson's work throughout Upstate New York today.
Our Story Continues, So Yours Can Begin
Today, This Old Hudson represents some of Upstate New York’s most distinctive homes, bringing together expertise in real estate, design, and storytelling. Led by founder Anthony D’Argenzio, the team approaches every property with the belief that how a home is presented and brought to market shapes not only its value, but its legacy.
Grounded in hyperlocal knowledge and creative expertise, our work is dedicated to connecting exceptional homes with the people who will appreciate them most.
At Our Core: A Commitment To Craft, Authenticity, and Community
We hold our values close, weaving positivity and passion into every pursuit and interaction. This Old Hudson is not just a team of brokers, but a beacon of enthusiasm and commitment to serving Upstate New York.
Presentation With Purpose
At This Old Hudson, every home is approached through a blend of design, narrative, and market insight. We focus on revealing a property's unique character and creating the conditions for a successful sale.
A Community Built on Trust
Our audience has been built over time through authenticity, consistency, and a shared appreciation for exceptional homes. When we represent a property, it is introduced to a highly engaged community of buyers, designers, architects, and creatives who recognize quality and value. The result is meaningful exposure grounded in trust rather than reach alone.
Driven by Craft and Care
Our work is guided by a belief that exceptional results are built long before a property reaches the market. From pricing strategy and market analysis to presentation and launch, every decision is informed by experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
A Tailored Approach to Every Client
No two properties—or clients—are alike. We take the time to understand your goals, your timeline, and what makes your home unique, developing a strategy tailored to your specific needs. Supported by expertise across real estate, design, marketing, and operations, we provide thoughtful guidance through every stage of the process.
Collective Expertise, Shared Purpose
Behind every listing is a team of professionals working together toward a common goal. By combining our strengths across real estate, design, marketing, and client services, we ensure every property benefits from a tailored approach from start to finish.
Our mission is to foster a vibrant community of individuals whose passion for design is rooted in home and extends into every aspect of living.
Giving Back to the Community We Love
We’ve teamed up with the Columbia County Habitat for Humanity to support the building of sustainable affordable homes for working families.
Join us in uplifting our vibrant Hudson Valley community by donating unused household items to the Hudson ReStore. Not only does this keep materials out of landfills, but it converts basement and barn clutter into quality goods and materials for the community at affordable prices.
